It was over 70 years ago when 18 Boeing employees realized that if they pooled their resources together they could do better than what the banks were offering. They each contributed fifty cents for a total of $9.00 in assets to form what is now BECU, a member-owned not for profit credit union. Over the last 70 years BECU has grown to over $8 billion dollars in assets, now serves over 530,000 members, offers a full spectrum of financial services, and now is open to all residents in Washington State. While a lot has changed over the years, one thing that has not changed is BECU’s focus on helping the members realize their dreams.
